The Sgraffito Alchemia - was the design of the house façade realised in 1983, which was created as a protective shield against the imminent demolition of the then parent building of the Stadtwerkstatt at that time. The building was demolished in 1990.

The former headquarter of Stadtwerkstatt was located at Friedhofstrasse 6. After the building was demolished, a retirement home was built here. An old people's home in a “Cemetery Street” appeared to the city government at that time, too “inappropriate.” Therefore it was renamed into the today's “Friedrichstraße”. Although, the aging people accommodated there look out their windows directly at the cemetery. After which the street was originally named. So much for the reverence of Linz's city dignitaries.
