Strange Sounds, Strange Spaces is an exhibition bringing together four sound installations developed as part of Sashe Urdovski's Master's thesis in Time-Based Media at the University of Art and Design Linz.
The works explore relationships between sound, space, perception, and practical artistic research through feedback systems, tape loops, multichannel composition, and interactive sonic environments. Particular attention is given to resonance, spatial listening, and semi-autonomous sonic processes, examining how sounds continuously influence, transform, and reshape one another through dynamic interaction.
Alongside the practical works, the theoretical research investigates sound as both a physical and perceptual phenomenon. Including topics like aural architecture, aural perception, phenomenology, and media theory, it examines how sonic experience emerges through interactions between bodies, materials, technologies, and environments.
The exhibition approaches sound not only as a medium for artistic expression, but also as a temporal phenomenon.

In the summer of 2023, Olivia Kudlich moved from Linz to Hamburg to join the crew of the MS Stubnitz. Now, from May 19 to 21, the student in the Spatial & Design Strategies program will present her final thesis Y4HK, at the STWST, which explores her time aboard the sociocultural event ship: Arrival, the struggle against disorientation, the onset of daily life, states of drifting, collective transformation: It is about “the documentation of experiences and projects realized aboard the cultural spaceship MS Stubnitz.”
Olivia Kudlich has also reflected for *Die Versorgerin* on her personal arrival in relation to Stubnitz and STWST:
Das ganze Schiff vibriert
