The Eleonore can go! The halfbit association has been operating the energy self-sufficient measuring ship Eleonore since 2009, and STWST has been running an artist-in-residency programme on it since 2010.

But oxidation is a process to which everything succumbs in the end. Metals, people and even projects. And thus also the measuring ship. The Elenore can go, must go, may go. We are taking this as an opportunity to call for the last residency: a demolition residency with questions about the end/beginning of the topics dealt with between art, media, periphery and self-sufficiency, about documentation, de-construction, handover capability, genuine sustainability and longevity.

Eva Grün &  livIn' spaces - Mario Bergamasco

Eva Grün spent 29 days + in May 2024 on the floating hull of the measuring ship Eleonore in Linz. She shared the residency with Mario Bergamasco for about half of this time.

Every day a drawing, a photo or an audio recording Daily immersion in the Traun. Material search and experiments in and around the ship: sugar cube soot ink, lemon ink and brush oscillator (work in progress with Marc 9). Keeping a diary of the ship. In the form of text, photos, video and sound recordings realised in drawing, painting and sound experiments.

Partial extraction of the ship. Soundscapes. The Eleonore as a resonating body becomes audible and perceptible in Mario Bergamasco's project “recording spaces”.

29 days offer space for isolation and participation Individual and collaborative work. Start of collective work with Taro Knopp, Flo Panhölzl, Marc 9 and many more… The Eleonore as a social space - well frequented.
